Thanks to significant historical events and and some luck, I was able to leave a small town tugged away in Germany’s eastern corner, near Poland and the Czech Republic, and come to the United States. I arrived with two suitcases in sunny California, spent the best year of my life rollerblading along the bay, and decided – this is it. I applied, received, and renewed all sorts of visas, worked like crazy, studied even harder and became a taxpaying member of society. Finally I hold the much coveted green card, along with a job I actually enjoy, in an area I can barely afford to live. Now, that my basic needs are met, I get up every day with the hope to make a difference in this world and be a better person than the day before. I am documenting my evidence here for others to find something useful and for me to enjoy it when I am old.
